Our instructors are certified by the California Department of Justice to teach the CA CCW Permit course.

Approved Course

This course has been approved by the Riverside County Sheriff's CCW Unit.

Certificate of Completion

Receive your course completion certificate as evidence of successful completion of required classroom training.

About the Course

This course is conducted in two stages. The first stage is this online training. You must view the entire content of each lesson. There are not fast-forward controls available until you complete the lesson. Once you've completed the lesson, a "play" bar will appear at the bottom allowing you to go back and forth through the lesson to review. You must complete all lessons including the quiz to complete the chapter. You cannot move to the next chapter until the current chapter is complete. You can stop and restart the course at any time. There is an exam at the end of the course. You will need a 90% to pass. Once you've passed the exam, you will be issued a course completion certificate which you will upload to the Sheriff's website. You will have 30 days from the start to complete this course. If you fail to complete the course in 30 days, you will be withdrawn from the course with no refund. The second stage is range training and qualification. After you complete the online course, contact the Riverside County Sheriff's CCW Unit to find a local shooting range to conduct this training.

I recently completed my CCW certification course with Gary Ragat and Konnie Ragat from L&L FIREARMS TRAINING LLC, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Both instructors are true professionals with a deep passion for teaching and safety. I learned so much about proper weapon management, pistol fundamentals, conceal carry laws, and basic defensive techniques. The range portion was outstanding—Gary and Konnie provided almost personal one-on-one guidance, showing us what to do, what not to do, and how to improve our shooting skills. They emphasized safety at every step and even taught us practical tips like how to properly unlock and manipulate different pistols based on real-world scenarios. Their patience, knowledge, and hands-on teaching style made the entire experience exceptional. I feel much more confident and responsible as a firearm owner because of their training. CCW Initial Course

Wow! Gary and his wife Konnie are amazing people! They are nice, sincere, patient, and very helpful. They are both WONDERFUL instructors, and we are so happy to have found them! Gary even spent about an hour with me on the phone before I booked the class since I had so many questions! They have much passion and knowledge! We tired lessons about 5 yrs ago (from another instructor) but it was not as detailed as Gary's Basic NRA pistol class. We learned WAY more this time around, and now are much more comfortable around guns, and may just be ready to buy one now! Thanks again Gary and Konnie! My husband is so happy he passed all the rounds and made rank 4 since most people cannot do it right away (less than 1% you said!) We both had so much fun and learned a lot!! Oh and thank you so much for all the photos you both took, they are such nice memories our of time with you both! :-)

Highly recommended. Very detailed, concise, and thorough course. California has very confusing gun laws that are ever so changing. Gary and Konnie were great at explaining every hypothetical scenario I could think of.
