Our instructors are certified by the California DOJ to teach the California CCW Course.

This course has been approved by the Riverside County Sheriff's CCW Unit and exceeds Cal DOJ requirements.

Certificate of Completion

Receive your course completion certificate as evidence of successful completion of required classroom training.

About the Course

This course is conducted in 2 phases. The first phase is this online course. You must view the entire content of each lesson. There are not fast-forward controls available until you complete the lesson. Once you've completed the lesson, a "play" bar will appear at the bottom allowing you to go back and forth through the lesson to review. You must complete all lessons including the quiz to complete the chapter. You cannot move to the next chapter until the current chapter is complete. You can stop and restart the course at any time. There is an exam at the end of the course. You will need a 90% to pass. Once you've passed the exam, you will be issued a course completion certificate which you will upload to the Sheriff's website. You will have 30 days from the start to complete this course. If you fail to complete the course in 30 days, you will be withdrawn from the course with no refund. After you complete the online course, visit our website and register for one of our Range Training for Online Student events. There is no additional cost except a $35 range fee if you are not a member of Rainbow Shooting Range.

Holding certifications as a California DOJ CCW Certified Instructor, NRA Training Counselor and Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Rifle and Pistol Instructor, and USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Instructor, he stands as a beacon of knowledge in the field. Gary's accolades include achieving the prestigious Distinguished Graduate in Defensive Pistol from FrontSight Training Institute 3 times, USMC Expert ratings in both rifle and pistol, and a Master's Degree in Project Management. His commitment as the chief instructor is fueled by a deep-seated passion for educating and empowering individuals seeking to enhance their skills.

Meet Konnie, an esteemed instructor with California Department of Justice CCW certification, NRA credentials as a Pistol and Rifle Instructor, NRA Range Safety Officer, and USCCA Concealed Carry and Defensive Handgun Instructor. She boasts a Distinguished Expert Certificate from the NRA MQP program and a Distinguished Graduate rating from Front Sight Training Institute. Specializing in NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting, CCW courses, women's only classes, private pistol lessons, and event support as an RSO, Konnie excels in operations and administration.

Wow! Gary and his wife Konnie are amazing people! They are nice, sincere, patient, and very helpful. They are both WONDERFUL instructors, and we are so happy to have found them! Gary even spent about an hour with me on the phone before I booked the class since I had so many questions! They have much passion and knowledge! We tired lessons about 5 yrs ago (from another instructor) but it was not as detailed as Gary's Basic NRA pistol class. We learned WAY more this time around, and now are much more comfortable around guns, and may just be ready to buy one now! Thanks again Gary and Konnie! My husband is so happy he passed all the rounds and made rank 4 since most people cannot do it right away (less than 1% you said!) We both had so much fun and learned a lot!!
